As the service delivery arm of the RSL ACT Branch, the RSL ACT Veterans’ Support Centre (VSC) provides pension and advocacy services, and welfare support to the Veteran community in the ACT and region. Initially opened in April 2015 as part of the Woden Valley Sub-Branch, the VSC was renamed later that year to better reflect its whole-of-Branch role and focus.

Community engagement and commemorative activities for the Branch centre on the annual Dawn Service and ANZAC Day March at the Australian War Memorial, two Day Clubs, and an annual ANZAC and Peace Ceremony that includes an essay competition for primary schools.

Since early 2016, the Branch Office has been co-located with the Woden Valley Sub-Branch and the RSL ACT VSC in Phillip, near the Woden shopping complex. Other sub-branches are spread throughout the ACT, with their details available on the RSL ACT website.

The RSL ACT VSC is available to any member or former member of the ADF and their families, in the ACT and region. Where appropriate, it works with other VSCs, Ex-Service and community organisations and service providers to resolve complex issues and optimise the level and type of support available. The VSC also assists smaller sub-branches ESOs in the ACT and beyond as required.

With a small cadre of paid staff, the RSL ACT relies on volunteers to deliver these services.

As there is no licensed RSL club in the ACT, the ACT Branch relies on fund raising to support its work. It is also seeking substantial financial support to sustain its responsible development to meet known and anticipated workloads, and provide a hub to support other local ESOs.
