MEDIA STATEMENT – 29 September, 2017

29 September, 2017

RSL National President Robert Dick and Vice President Stewart Cameron have been reinstated to the RSL National Board and will resume duties immediately.

Both Directors voluntarily stood aside from the RSL National Board, pending an independent investigation into circumstances surrounding the purchase of a car for a former President.

External investigators with legal, accounting and compliance expertise were engaged by RSL National to review the matter, demonstrating its commitment to decisive action regarding the administration of the League. State RSL branches have also resolved to examine their independent organisations.

The investigators found neither of the two RSL National Directors had knowledge of, or approved, the purchase of the vehicle.

I work away so I am not aware of the problems that the RSL was involved with.
